Bands are ephemeral. Collaborators weave themselves in and out of your life. Sometimes you're all alone, no band, no crutch, and "imagine a rippin' guitar solo here" is a one-time joke. Sometimes a fresh approach changes the feeling of a song in a way you never knew you needed.
In July 2020, Matt Steele went into New Scotland Yard Studio to record and film one-take solo versions of some of the tracks off his band's 2018 debut Half Girl Half Ghost. Some of the arrangements begged for just a little bit more, so Matt and a few friends added the necessary spare parts.
Apparition Edition showcases the vulnerability and simple songcraft hiding under the hood of the power pop rave-up Half Girl Half Ghost.
